The following rules apply to all trucks competing in the SuperLite Championship™ Series
Qualification: The SuperLite™ race truck is a one make, single seat, specification restricted race vehicle for use in the SuperLite Championship™ Series. No other race vehicle other than those specified within these regulations is permitted to compete. The SuperLite™ race truck must be used as designed, without modification unless specifically described within these regulations. No other modifications are permitted.
Qualified Vehicles: The following vehicles are permitted for competition in the SuperLite Championship™ Series;
SuperLite chassis numbers 001 through 017 manufactured by Full Potential Off Road (FPO) and meeting all current 2011 series regulations.
SuperLite chassis numbers 018 through 040 manufactured by Speed Technologies LLC and meeting all current 2011 series regulations.
1.0 NUMBERS
1.1 Numbers are 1-99
1.2 All numbers must be block style only with a minimum space of 1 inch.
1.3 Numbers must be applied side by side. No slanted numbers.
1.4 Numbers will be located in the following positions:
a. Both sides of the vehicle behind the cab on the specification restricted number plate. This location must have the SuperLite Championship™ number plate background as supplied by the series.
b. Roof of vehicle, as viewed from passenger side
c. 1 number plate on the back of vehicle facing rear
d. Upper left hand corner of windshield visor on the SuperLite Championship background supplied by the series.

2.0 CHASSIS
The entire chassis is a specification restricted part and may not be modified or altered in any way from its original design without exception. Structural repairs may be made, but must be inspected and approved by the series Technical Director. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
3.0 MEASUREMENTS
3.1 Maximum track width is 74 inches.
3.2 Wheelbase is 94 inches.
3.3 Minimum ride height is 10 inches. Vehicle must pass over a measured 10 inch block without outside assistance.
4.0 BODY
The body parts are specification restricted components and must be used as designed in their original mounting locations without modification. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
4.1 Any modification of the body or body mounting points for the purpose of altering the vehicles aerodynamic characteristics will not be permitted.
4.2 All trucks must have complete bodies, cabs, hoods, doors, fenders, grills, and roofs in top quality condition, in their original design location at all times. Removal of rear bedsides is permitted for practice sessions only.
4.3 Complete bodies must be attached at start of competition, or any on track activities. Bodies must be attached in such a fashion as not to create a pointed or sharp extrusion when panels are removed.
4.4 Original dimensions of all body panels must remain as designed and manufactured. Adjustments for tire clearance is permitted but must be approved by series Technical Director.
4.5 Roofline, rocker panels, and top of bed side must be parallel to horizontal frame members.
5.0 BUMPERS
The front bumper, rear bumper and side nerf bars are specification restricted components. These components must be used as designed in their original design position without modification. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
5.1 All bumpers and nerf bars are required to be in place on the vehicle during all practice, qualifying and race sessions.
5.2 All vehicles must be equipped with rear mud flaps for all practice, qualifying and race sessions.
6.0 SUSPENSION
All suspension components are specification restricted components and must be used in their original design location as supplied by the manufacturer without modification. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
6.1 Adjustment of the suspension is open within the design specifications of the vehicle manufacturer. Adjustable points of the suspension must remain within safe design tolerances and will be subject to approval of the series Technical Director.
6.2 Vehicle hardware i.e. bolts, nuts, washers, rod ends, spherical balls and rivets are open. Please refer to the Specification Restricted and Non-Specification Restricted parts addendums within these regulations.
7.0 STEERING COMPONENTS
All steering system components are specification restricted parts and must be used as designed in their original design locations without modification. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
7.1 The use of a steering ratio multiplier is permitted.
8.0 SHOCKS
Shocks are specification restricted components and must be used as designed, in their original design locations, without modification.
8.1 Rebuilding and servicing of the shocks are permitted. Replacement components must be of original manufacturer design and readily available to any competitor in the series.
8.2 Springs and spring rates are open within the original design limitations of the shocks.
8.3 Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for approved shocks and approved shock manufacturers.
9.0 BRAKES & BRAKE COOLING
Brake components including; rotors, hats, calipers are specification restricted components and must be used as designed in their original design position without modification.
9.1 Brakes must be operational on all four wheels at all times.
9.2 Brake bias adjustment between front and rear of vehicle is permitted.
10.0 MINIMUM WEIGHT
Minimum competition weight is 2500 pounds (technical bulletin 3/18/11), which includes driver and all required safety equipment.
10.1 Vehicles can be courtesy weighed prior to competition.
10.2 Series Technical Director must approve all weight material and location.
10.3 Added weight must be in block form.
10.4 Blocks must weigh no less than 5 pounds each and cannot be made of liquid of any type, pellets, or other granulated weight.
10.5 Dislodged weight cannot be returned to the vehicle for weighing at the end of the race.
10.6 All block ballast must be painted white and identified with vehicle number.
10.7 Weight may be sealed at the discretion of the series Technical Director.
10.8 All vehicles will weigh in before and/or after competition at the discretion of series Technical Director.
11.0 ENGINE
The engine is a specification restricted component. See Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
All SuperLite race trucks competing in the 2011 SuperLite Championship must be powered by the Renesis 13B engine manufactured by Mazda. All engines are prepared for competition and sealed by Exotic Engine Development, the exclusive engine supplier for the SuperLite Championship Series. No other engines are permitted.
11.1 Unsealed engines or engines with broken seals will not be permitted to compete. Unsealed engines must be returned to the designated engine supplier for inspection and electronic sealing at the owner’s expense.
12.0 ENGINE OILING SYSTEM
The Mazda Renesis racing engine is equipped with a dry sump oil system. An external oil tank is required. The oil tank is a specification restricted component and must be used in its original design location as supplied by the manufacturer.
No modifications are permitted with the following exceptions;
12.1 Changes to plumbing; including hoses, hose fittings, adapter fittings, oil filter mounts, mounting hardware and oil filters is permitted.
13.0 ENGINE ELECTRONICS
All SuperLite race trucks competing in the 2011 SuperLite Championship must utilize the SuperLite engine management package. This package consists of both restricted and non-restricted components. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” and Addendum B, “Non-Specification Components” for further details.
13.1 All engine management functions must be performed exclusively through SuperLite ECU. No other electronic components or “piggyback” electronic components are permitted.
13.2 Diagnostic monitoring and data acquisition of engine is permitted.
13.3 All competitors in the SuperLite Championship™ are require to submit their vehicle at any time to the series Technical Director for electronic monitoring of engine functions.
13.4 SuperLite ECU’s are equipped with security protocol to prevent modifications of the engine control map. Any attempt to alter the program will result in immediate disqualification.
13.5 Altering of any engine sensor or manipulation of any electronic input to the ECU is prohibited. Any attempt to alter a sensor or electronic input to the ECU will result in immediate disqualification and further disciplinary action by the series Technical Director.
14.0 ENGINE & RACE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
14.1 Any make or brand of spark plug may be used.
14.2 All vehicles must have a working alternator system.
14.3 All vehicles must have a self-starter in working condition and must be capable of starting under their own power.
14.4 All electrical switches must be located on the dash panel.
14.5 All vehicles must have a master on/off switch wired to the battery in a manner that will cut off all electrical power and the engine.
14.6 Master switch must be labeled as such, have a red circle around it, be located on the left hand side of the dash panel, and must be accessible from the outside of the race vehicle. Red circle must be at least 1 inch wide.
15.0 ENGINE COOLING SYSTEMS
Vehicles are permitted to run one (1) water radiator, and one (1) oil cooler. Any size or brand of cooler is permitted. Coolers must fit within the body lines of the vehicle and not extend beyond. Coolers that have been relocated from the original design position of the manufacturer must be approved by the series Technical Director.
16.0 ENGINE EXHAUST SYSTEMS
The exhaust system including the header pipes, muffler and tail pipe assembly are specification restricted components. No modifications are permitted. Mufflers must be replaced when needed to meet maximum noise requirements of the series. Refer to Addendum A, "Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
16.1 Mufflers must meet series requirements for maximum noise level of 105 db measured at 50 feet.
16.2 Exhaust heat shields are permitted.
17.0 AIR CLEANERS
The air cleaner assembly is an open component. The air cleaner must serve no other purpose than filtering of the inlet air to the engine.
18.0 FUEL CELL
The fuel cell is a specification restricted component. It must be used as designed, in its original design position without modification. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for permitted fuel cells.
18.1 Original equipment fuel cells in chassis numbers 001-017 are permitted for use in their original design position.
18.2 Replacement of original plastic fuel containers within the aluminum fuel cell box is permitted.
19.0 FUEL
The official series fuel for the 2011 SuperLite Championship™ is VP Racing Fuel “SuperLite 100+”. This fuel has been specifically formulated for use in the SuperLite Championship™ Mazda Renesis engine. No other fuel is permitted.
19.1 All competitors are required to submit a fuel sample to the series Technical Director immediately upon request.
19.2 It is permitted to increase the oil content of the fuel if desired. No addition of any oxygen bearing compound is permitted. The series strongly recommends that any competitor choosing to alter the fuel with the use of additional oil or additives submit a fuel sample to series officials prior to its use in official competition. Fuel samples not meeting testing standards will not be permitted.
20.0 FLYWHEEL & CLUTCH
The flywheel and clutch are specification restricted components and must be used as designed in their original design location without modification. Refer to Addendum A, “Specification Restricted Components” for further details.
21.0 TRANSMISSION
The transaxle is a specification restricted component. No design modifications are permitted. All components must be in place and functioning in their original locations as designed without modification.
21.1 Mendeola 2E and 2D transaxles permitted. Any final drive or individual gear ratio is permitted. The ring and pinion and gear sets must be standard readily available components that may be purchased by any competitor.
21.2 Transaxles must have all four (4) fully functioning forward gears and a fully functioning reverse gear.
21.3 Servicing and rebuilding of the transaxle is permitted. Parts replacement is limited to OEM or direct replacement equivalent parts. Replacement parts must be of the original transaxle model number and readily available to all competitors.
21.4 All internal components must be in place and operational at all times.
21.5 Replacement of the original equipment cable shifting mechanism with a direct shaft type shifting linkage is permitted so long as it serves no other purpose than gear selection in the transaxle.
21.6 The use of a “Master Shift” shift system for the Mendeola 2D gearbox is permitted. This system must be used as designed by the manufacturer without modification or additions of other components.
21.7 No open or limited slip differentials are permitted.
22.0 TIRES
Vehicles may compete with any DOT (Department of Transportation) approved tire that meets the following requirements;
22.1 Required Tire Size = 31 x 10.50 -15 or metric equivalent 265 / 75 R15
22.2 All tire manufacturers wishing to compete in the SuperLite Championship™ must submit a maximum of two (2) tire models to the series Technical Director for approval. These tire(s) will be the only tires permitted for use by the teams running their brand for the entire season. No tires may be substituted or new tires introduced mid-season by an approved tire supplier. Mid-season is defined as “any period of time between the waving of the first green flag in sanctioned competition in the 2011 race season and the final checkered flag waved in sanctioned competition at the conclusion of the 2011 racing season.
22.3 Tire grooving is permitted.
23.0 WHEELS
Any manufacturer’s wheel meeting the following requirements is permitted;
23.1 Forged or cast aluminum wheels only.
23.2 Allowable wheel sizes: 15 x7 and 15 x 8
23.3 Beadlock wheels are permitted but must meet the safety requirements of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series.
24.0 COCKPIT AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT
In general, the layout of the cockpit for driver preference is open and changes are permitted. However, before making any changes the competitor should refer to the General Regulations of the Lucas Oil Off Road Series pertaining to driver safety and required driver safety equipment.
24.1 Selection of seat and seat type is open.
24.2 Selection of seat belts and seat belt type is open.
24.3 The use of analog or digital gauges is permitted.
24.4 Vehicles utilizing the cockpit area for location of the oil tank, fuel pumps and filters must have an area away from the driver separated by a complete firewall to house these components.
24.5 No passengers are permitted in competition in 2011.
