Ellis was born in Australia and staked his claim busting out huge moves on a skateboard, going pro back in 1985. His move to the United States earned him the status of pro skateboarder in 1990. Hanging with pro skate legends such as Tony Hawk, by the turn of the millennium, he worked his way into Big Air vert ramp competition at the 2004 and 2005 X Games.
As if the life of Ellis was not laden with the credible elements of the hard core action sports lifestyle, he upped the anti, jumping into the mixed martial arts arena and joining Team Quest in Murrieta, California beneath the direction of Dan Henderson, Muhammed Lawal and Jason "Mayhem" Miller. Ellis made his MMA debut, delivering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter Tony Gianopulos a vicious submission (Guillotine Choke) in round two. He eventually made the move from Temecula, California to Hollywood and trains with Justin Fortune at Fortune Boxing Gym.
