To commemorate the life of action sports star and SuperLite Championship racer Jeff "Ox" Kargola, who died last month while riding the Rip To The Tip adventure motorcycle ride in Baja, the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, in conjunction with General Tire, the title sponsor of Kargola's SuperLite truck, will launch its two-day race weekend at Glen Helen Raceway with a special opening ceremony to begin at 2 p.m this Saturday. The SuperLite Championship Round 5 main event will immediately follow the tribute.

The artistry of SuperLite Arrive & Drive truck racing is on full display. The speed. The poetry of horsepower. And the thrill of going two-wide into the apex with a charged pack of SuperLites chomping at your heals. The race video is a feature on reigning SuperLite points leader, R.J. Anderson, who fields the Walker Evans Racing / SoCal SuperTrucks / Polaris Off Road Vehicles SuperLite as well as entry in the UTV class.

The 2010 SuperLite Championship made for an amazing race season. If you were there fist pumping in the grandstands or amid the millions who jumped headway into the chat of our live interactive web stream, then you were able to get a glimpse and even grasp at the mud-slinging excitement behind the wheel of SuperLite's Arrive & Drive off-road race program. But for those who weren't, there was a void.

It's tough to find anyone from the Road & Track Magazine staff looking to get dirty. And sure, behind the wheel of some of the fastest cars on the planet, one might say they're accustomed to flying. But in reality, it wasn't until ace journalist Jonathan Elfalan strapped into the seat of a SuperLite Championship truck, that the figure of speech truly earned its wings and dirt became the right of passage to the thrill fest of airborne adrenaline junkies.
