Currently 15 points back from the season points lead, a position held exclusively by the local Walker Evans Racing / SoCal SuperTrucks machine of R.J. Anderson, George fought his way to the podium twice so far this season. He posted a third place finish in rounds one and four of SuperLite racing and hopes to capitalize on the tremendous test time and tuning he's performed in preparation for this weekend's racing.
"I'm striving for a win in Superlites," said George, as quoted in an interview with Daily Bulletin sports reporter Louis Brewster. "I've had a lot of podiums, but it's been a while since we last won. I'm confident going into Glen Helen. We have a lot of momentum."
George is the four-time defending champion in the UTV class behind the wheel of his FUNCO Motorsports Monster Kawasaki Teryx and is no stranger to victory in SuperLites. He remains one of only two racers in class history who have tallied three consecutive victories. His win streak struck in 2010 and stretched from round three and four at Speedworld Off Road Park and ended with the round five stop at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which served as his last victory in the challenging spec class.
Ricky James, piloting the SoCal SuperTrucks machine in 2009, was the only other racer to rack up three-consecutive wins.
In addition to the nine times George climbed upon the podium in 2010, he earned the runner up slot for the season championship. Freestyle motocross icon, Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg, piloting the Rockstar Metal Mulisha machine, clinched the championship.
