Kargola began his short course off road racing career behind the wheel of the General Tire SuperLite at Glen Helen last year for LOORRS Round 9 and 10 in August. The Metal Mulisha freestyle motocross athlete impressed the field by qualifying third in the round nine lineup, but a notable crash during lap two of the main event ended the day's effort.
With extensive damage sustained to the truck, the SuperLite Arrive & Drive crew had its work cut out, completely rebuilding and replacing a myriad of components that stretched the full length of the truck. The initial prognosis by many reverred no hope in getting the truck back on track and back in action for the huge General Tire Grabber street legal off-road tire debut. But the SuperLite crew rallied through the night to make it happen.
“The Arrive & Drive is what it is. Amazing," quipped Kargola as he prepared to take the wheel for Sunday's round 10 racing. "The guys at SuperLite are miracle workers. I couldn't race without them. I arrive and go racing. I crash. And that's when they perform miracles. I wouldn't be racing today, with my lifestyle, if they weren't performing miracles behind the scenes.”
After returning from a race-ending crash the day prior and with the weight of General Tire's Grabber debut on the line, Kargola's enthusiasm was unfettered as he lined up with class heavyweights, as if the Monster Energy-backed athlete thrived at the adversity.
Kargola, in his first full race behind the wheel, managed to land the General Tire Grabber truck on the podium, finishing third. Freestyle motocross icon and Metal Mulisha teammate, Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg, finished first in his Rockstar Metal Mulisha truck. Monster Energy athlete C.J. Greaves, raced his truck to second on the podium.
